Volcano Pictures

Wednesday is homework day and it was more exciting than most! With a vast array of different volcanoes and colourful eruptions we felt like suddenly our classroom was a real-life ring of fire. Here are some of the Volcanoes, we hope you like them.

volcanoes

In geography our teacher told us that we were going to study about volcanoes. On the computer we saw in which places were the most dangerous volcanoes. But suddenly in Europe and in other places volcanoes started to erupt. So on Friday when our teacher gave us the homework, he gave us a paper that told us to ´make a volcano´. We had to decide how to make a volcano. Some of the children decided to make it out of plasticine and others chose other materials. On Wednesday all the children had a volcano and our is now full of model volcanoes.

Science Investigation

In science we have been learning about solids and liquids. Here is a recount of an investigation into separating the mess. We started with a bowl of sand, salt, rice and paper clips. First we separated the paper clips with a magnet. Secondly we separated
the rice with a sieve- the rice stayed in the sieve and the sand and the salt fell through.
To separate the sand and the salt we tried to put them in the filter paper but neither of them went through. So we mixed water with the sand and salt and the dissolved salt went through the filter with the water. After that we put the salt and the water in the sun to evaporate the water, leaving the salt crystals behind.

A TRIP TO THE BEACH.

After an exciting morning at the Nature Center the teachers decided to have lunch on the beach. The light brown sand was very soft. There was a spider’s cobweb to play on and our feet hurt a little bit when we climbed, but it was fun.

Next, a child called Alex found a little ball so some Year 4 pupils played “Catch”. We spent a lot of time (approximately half an hour) playing on the beach.

The Trip

On Monday morning we went on a trip to the nature centre in Sagunto. In the centre we collected aromatic flowers and vegetables. Next we watched ducks and birds in an observatory by a pond, where we saw a dog whose name was Mislatta. Then we watched a film on how important water is. Finally we went to the beach and we ate our lunch.
